The St. Valentine’s Classic Basketball Tournament was a big success. To all of you who volunteered your time and donated items…THANK YOU!!! The tournament consisted of 25 teams playing 64 games in just over two days in three gyms. It was your time and effort that made it possible to successfully make it happen. From concession workers, to entry collectors, scoreboard operators, bookkeepers, and everything in between… job well done! Special thanks and recognition goes to Ed Hammond and Neil Campbell for being the principal organizers of the tournament. They had countless hours of work completed before, during, and after the tournament. While on the subject of “athletic appreciation”, thanks also goes to the following:
► The Dr. Gray Hagy family for organizing the 2nd Annual St. Rose Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run. It has proven to be vitally important part of funding for St. Rose Athletics. ► Travis Saffel and gang for organizing the very successful St. Rose Winter Classic Basketball Tournament. The first year of the tournament was well done and has been established as a new principal funding source for St. Rose Athletics.
St. Rose Athletics is graciously appreciative to all of the individuals and businesses that have provided support over the years. Your support is the backbone of St. Rose Athletics. It is your support that allows us to provide and maintain an expanding offering of programs for the children of St. Rose School. We are also thankful for the use of the PCC and for all of the efforts that make the building a reality. We look forward to continuing an athletic program that instills Christian values along with teamwork, leadership, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. The success of this tournament and the other mentioned events will go a long way in making that possible. Thank you again, St. Rose Athletics Ps: Please note the following:
►Two coolers have not yet been claimed. Both are blue and white and one is slightly larger than the other. Please call J.C. Schaumleffel at 740-621-3110 to claim them.
►J.C. owes an apology to Christine Barnette for accidentally scheduling her into the wrong day to work. It made her look like a “no show” when it was really not the case…Sorry!!! ►A quick thanks to: ♦ Those who worked multiple shifts and multiple days ♦ Those who worked beyond your scheduled shift (Aimee Mitchell and Cindy Smith to name a few) because of scheduling mishaps…sorry again! ♦ The new faces of our younger families ♦ New Lexington City Schools for the gyms and their dedicated janitors ♦ The several referees that had what is probably the toughest job of the tournament |
