I want to thank all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend parent-teacher conferences last week. I feel very blessed to be working with such caring and supportive parents. I appreciate all the work you do at home to reinforce and encourage your child’s learning.
2nd Grade Mass
Our class will be in charge of planning and leading the school Mass this Friday, Nov. 4th. Students who will be reading at Mass will be bringing home readings/prayers to practice by this Friday. We will be practicing each day here at school. However, if your child has a reading part, I ask that you please, please also practice each day with your child at home. Please remember you are welcome to join us and support our class by attending Mass this Friday at 9:00am.
First Holy Communion Meeting
The next meeting for those planning to make their First Holy Communion this school year will be next Thursday, Nov. 10th at 6:00pm at St. Rose Church. The completed student booklet covering the Sacrament of Reconciliation (titled: “My Booklet About God’s Love and Forgiveness”) will be due at this meeting. Remember, also that the Reconciliation Service when students will make their First Confession will be two days later on Saturday, Nov. 12th at 10:00am.
What We’re Learning: Language Arts: words with long “i” sound, revising Halloween stories; sequencing Math: addition strategies (counting on, doubles facts, making a ten) Religion: obeying God, The Ten Commandments, kinds of sin Science: classifying animals into groups Social Studies: map concepts
