2nd Grade News Book Fair The school’s Scholastic Book Fair will be held this week. Students will be visiting the book fair during their regular weekly library time. If you choose to send money for your child to purchase items at the book fair, please be sure to enclose it in an envelope or baggie marked with his/her name. As in the past, “layaway” will be available. This means that if your child is without money the day of their visit, they can still select items that will be set aside for them to purchase by the end of the week.
Celebrating Halloween In place of a class Halloween party, 2nd grade will be participating in a classroom activity rotation with kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 27th. The teachers (Mrs. Fondale, Mrs. Demeter, Mrs. Walters, Mrs. Reed and I) will plan Halloween related activities and each grade will rotate among the different classrooms in order to take part in each activity. We will not be passing out classroom treats, so please do not send any candy or snacks with your child to share with classmates. Since we are still in the process of planning this event, I will send out additional information if any assistance or supplies are needed.
Parent – Teacher Conferences Please do not forget to call the school office to schedule a conference time on either Oct. 26th or Oct. 27th. Meeting times are available from 3:30-7:30pm both evenings. If these dates or times will not work for you, it is no problem. Just let me know by writing me a short note in the home-school folder, calling, or emailing me and I will be glad to work something else out with you.
