St. Rose School 2nd Grade News Field Trip Next Tuesday, October 18th we will be going on a field trip (along with grades K & 1) to Noll’s Pumpkin Farm. We will be traveling by bus and will leave at 9:30am and return about 1:00pm. The cost will be $5.00 per student (this will cover the cost of the tour and will allow each student to pick out their own pumpkin to take home). This will be a non-uniform day for grades K-2; however, students should dress for a farm and for the weather. In addition, students will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink as we will be having lunch at the farm. The information and permission form for the trip was sent home yesterday. It is important that the permission slip be returned by this Friday, Oct. 14th. You are welcome to join us and chaperone the trip provided you have attended the “Protecting God’s Children” seminar. There is a charge of $1.00 per each chaperone and per each younger sibling who attend. Also, chaperones must provide their own transportation (you may meet at the school and follow the bus; however chaperones/siblings are not permitted to ride the bus). Parent – Teacher Conferences Please note that parent-teacher conferences are just two weeks away on the evenings of October 26th and 27th from 3:30 to 7:30. It is very important that I meet with each and every one of you in an effort to make this year as meaningful and productive as possible for your child. Please call the school office to set up a conference time. Book Fair The school’s Scholastic Book Fair will begin on Thursday of this week and will run through Friday of next week. At this time I am unsure which day our class will be visiting the book fair, but I will forward this info home as soon as I found out. If you choose to send money for your child to purchase items at the book fair, please be sure to enclose it in an envelope or baggie marked with his/her name. As in the past, “layaway” will be available. This means that if your child is without money the day of our visit, they can still select items that will be set aside for them to purchase by the end of the book fair.
