POT OF GOLD POTLUCK
On March 17, 2012 at the St. Rose Parish Community Center after the 6:00pm Mass there will be a Pot of Gold Potluck Party. There will be games for kids, there will be drinks to buy, people are bringing their famous dishes (it is a potluck), and Cliff Cody will sing at 7:00pm. At 9:00pm there will be one drawing for one prize. The lucky name on the winning ticket will receive $5,000. This fundraiser is for St. Rose Catholic School, almost 100 years strong. Please consider buying a few raffle tickets. Each ticket is $20. One person can buy all six for $100, and the winner need not be present. If a 2012-2013 St. Rose student’s name is written on the ticket for the Leprechaun’s Bonus, that student’s family will receive a $500 tuition coupon for the 2012-2013 school year. This is an incentive for our families to sell, sell, sell. Any questions, please call Fr. Jim at 740-342-1348. We truly are grateful to God for you and hope you buy some tickets! Please return purchased tickets to the rectory (309 N. Main St., New Lexington, Ohio 43764).

TOURNAMENT UPDATE

Thank you very much to those that have responded to the request for volunteers! We are off to a good start in filling all of the shifts; however, we still need several more people. Your time and effort is one of the most important roles necessary in order to make this tournament a success. We have 30 teams committed for this weekend thus providing for the opportunity to realize much needed additional funding for St. Rose Athletics. These additional funds will go a long way in providing updates, upgrades, and additions to our many athletic programs.

With that in mind, the following positions and shifts still need filled:

-All game bookkeeper and scoreboard operator positions in all gyms still need filled. If you, or someone you know, are even remotely knowledgeable (or would like to learn) about keeping the game book or running the scoreboard, please let us know. These are not difficult jobs, plus, you get to enjoy as many games as your heart desires!

-Friday at St. Rose PCC is filled (thank you)! The only openings this night are for bookkeeper and scoreboard operator.

-Saturday at St. Rose PCC: 8am-11am; 2pm-5pm; 5pm-8pm, 8pm-close (10:30am) are open for all positions…concessions, door/entry, bookkeeper, scoreboard operator.

-Sunday at St. Rose PCC: 11am-2pm; 5pm-close (8:30pm) are open for all positions…concessions, door/entry, bookkeeper, scoreboard operator.

-Saturday at New Lexington Elementary School: All shifts for all positions are still open.

-Saturday and Sunday for New Lexington Middle School: All shifts for all positions are still open.

Please consider a shift, a shift each day, or multiple shifts throughout the weekend. Please bring along your older children that are willing to help. Also, if your children have service hour requirements, please bring them also and we will complete any paperwork that is necessary.

Thank you again, and remember, all hours that you work are counted towards your required volunteer hours for St. Rose School.

Please call J.C. Schaumleffel at 740-621-3110 or email him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any questions or to schedule.

Note: We will have the tournament schedule completed this evening. If your child is playing this weekend and you would like to volunteer, please let us know. We can schedule you around your child's game times in order for you to watch their game.

We have tried to keep you informed about our efforts to secure the financial future of our Catholic school, and so many of you continue to generously help us. The weekly offertory, tuition and tuition assistance, the Faith in our Future Annual Appeal, the St. Rose Booth at the County Fair, and the St. Rose Festival (June 15 and 16) are all necessary for the future of our school. But our financial reports and Bishop, who has great hope for our school, tell us we need to have one more big fundraiser for the year. This is it! This Super Raffle can help put us on sturdy ground for the years to come. Please consider buying a few raffle tickets. Each ticket is $20. One person can buy all six for $100. The one drawing is for $5,000, and the winner need not be present. 2012 ST. ROSE SCHOOL FESTIVAL NEWS
Last year's festival was a huge success due to the hard work of parishioners and parents. The profits made from the festival have helped our school tremendously! Again this year we will be having donation contests among the students and families of St. Rose School. This year, students will receive tickets for each item that they donate. There will be a new donation cycle every 2 weeks. At the end of the donation period, a winning ticket will be drawn. Students will be able to choose their prize from items such as iTunes gift cards, Pizza Hut gift cards, Family Video gift certificates, and many more!

We are urging grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parishioners to help out as often as possible with the donations. There will be a storage tub inside the rectory for drop-offs of the donations. If you would like a particular student to receive a ticket for this item, please write his/her name on the item(s) you have donated.

The first donation cycle will begin Wednesday, February 1st and will go through Friday, February 10th. We are asking for ketchup, mustard, and napkins.

A ticket will be drawn for this cycle the following Friday.
